How the 1-10 number generator works
Press the button and the tool picks one whole number from 1 to 10, where both ends count. Each of the ten numbers has exactly the same chance, which is one in ten on every press. Earlier results do not change the next one, so getting a 7 twice in a row is rare but completely normal.
The range is only a starting point. You can raise the maximum, set the minimum to zero, ask for several numbers at once, add decimals, or exclude numbers you do not want. That makes the same page useful for a quick tie-break and for a longer list of picks.
How to use this tool
- Leave the range at 1 and 10, or type your own minimum and maximum.
- Choose how many numbers you need. Untick Allow duplicate numbers if every number must be different.
- Press Generate or hit the space bar.
- Use Copy Result to paste the numbers somewhere else, or check the history list for earlier rolls.
Ways to use it
- Settling who goes first in a board game when nobody wants to roll a die.
- Choosing a question number in a classroom quiz or a raffle ticket at a school fair.
- Picking a rating, a lucky number, or a number to guess in a party game.
- Testing a spreadsheet, a game or a form with random sample values.
Is it fair and private?
Every result on SpinPicker is picked at random by your own browser, and every number or entry has exactly the same chance. Nothing is sent to a server, so nobody else can see or change your result.
